What is the Copying Process?

August 10, 2013 By Partner's Quest

The copy is the result of reproducing a document or part of a sheet of paper normally, but can also be another type of material, such as a transparency opal, etc.. The size of the papers is diverse: letter, legal, A4, A5, and many more to reach special planes, you can Click Here to know more.

Copying process is performed by optical and photosensitive. First, the original is placed on a glass surface or some other transparent material. Under this area is at a light source, usually a lamp called “exposure lamp”, then the light is reflected in the lighter shades of the original and this image is guided by mirrors to a light sensitive drum that rotates, the which is energized electrostatically attracting dried ink called toner. This element is also known as photoreceptor or photoconductor . The photocopier we work on the binding of a series of cables that reach a goal that you begin to take the photo and sends the signal for the start copying.

Under this cylinder is another element that energizes the photoconductor (called “crown”) and when the copying process when the paper passes under the cylinder, the ring is activated by de-energizing the cylinder and causing the toner to fall on the paper.

After the paper dust on it goes through another component called the photocopier fuser unit , which is responsible for fuse toner onto the copy paper.

Blue copies planes are called blueprints, and the process is rather chemist since chemicals are used as the ammonia for the copying process, so can not be considered “copy”.

Currently there are photocopiers varied sizes and functions, there are personal, desk, station, planes, etc.. Some can be networked, others are multifunctional (which are also scanner, fax, printer, etc..), Plus they are divided into analog and digital.

The analog using mechanized processes, e.g. if requested 10 copies of an original, the exposure lamp scroll the document 10 times (once for each copy). In contrast, in digital, lamp sweep once the document and stores it in memory, and reproduces the original as many times as you ordered. There are photocopiers floppy and / or memory that can store previous work and Click Here if you want to know more.

The inventor of this process called Xerography (Greek Xeros “dry” and Graphs “drawing or image”) was Chester Floyd Carlson , who in 1931 discovered a photosensitive material that static electricity was loaded only in areas exposed to light, after several experiments that led to the first photocopier, the Xerox 914 , by the company “Haloid” currently “Xerox Corporation”.
